#Dublin vs #Kerry GAA | Life in Ireland

Dublin and Kerry battled on Croke Park when they squared off in the opening game of the 2020 Allianz Football League on 25th January. So what more appropriate day if not this to attend my first ever GAA event in Ireland?

The Dublin-Kerry competition is a Gaelic football rivalry between Irish county teams, who first played each other in 1892. And what a match is was last night, with Kerry scoring in the 80th minute the equaliser point! Lasted less than a football match, but seemed more intense as I am yet to be fully familiarised with the sport. Not to worry as I came prepared:

One prepared supporter: The game leaflet to read more about the teams and a green blanket to keep me warm on the stadium.

Fact checker:

*#Dublin vs Kerry, Gaelic football rivalry

*42.502 supporters on Croke Park, the 3rd biggest stadium in Europe. 2 of them were me and Daniel 😀

*AllianzFootballLeague opener

*Official account of DUB GAA

My experience to a first GAA match

*Hard hitting & absorbing atmosphere for the most part of the game and tense at the end, as the game finished with an equal score.

*First game of the new Dublin manager Dessie Farrell

*Referee flashed 15 cards and found out what the black card was 😀

*Storming match for both team and ambitious players up to the end second

*Well – behaved supporters, many came with family and kids.

*Everybody was in a cheerful mood, applauding and cheering each team.

42.502 supporters

*Fast-check queues to buy food & drinks, card accepted :D. Easy to pay, as you will find in many places in Ireland.

*Tickets bought in 3 minutes at the local Supervalu after doing weekly shoppings.

*No queues at the stadium. Cheaper tickets bought online & at retail chains sure helped. 15E vs 20E if you would of bought them at the stadium.
