The opportunity of a free coffee

One coffee paid, one is free. This a concept more and more used by coffee shops owners in an effort to attract more clients. While they can benefit from it, the economy you make is only theoretic. So if you pay 12 lei (aprox 3 euros) for a coffee why does it makes the other one free. And this also adds up to the fact that the hot whipped cream latte is only 10 no 12 lei.
Therefore the economy you make is only theoretic because 1.if you don’t drink the coffee with someone and then you can actually benefit from that coffee than the second drink is useless because it won’t have the same taste. 2.you don’t pay less for the coffee because the price is up. BUT if there are two persons than the price is 6 lei instead of 10 (the first price).
And if I think that ordering “suspended” food is helping, I don’t know if that applies to coffee. The needy don’t usually have access to social networks, they need food.
