Street food in China

One can say that comes to know a country or its people by tasting street food. Nothing is more likely than in China where business mixes with food. Actually after you eat well, drink tea, then it is time for business.

Most important in China is to taste its traditional food, not only the one they serve at the restaurant, but the one cooked in a small family restaurant or on the street.

On hidden streets you can easy find small restaurants that have only a serving table or two chairs. Dumplings, soy snacks and fish, everything is cooked right on the spot.

Street food it is a convenient, delicious and cheap meal, also a great way to get into touch with the locals.

Here you can see their famous dumpling or Jiaozi. They are shaped like ancient gold ingots, which were believed to bring you good luck. They are filled with vegetables or meat. Are then boiled in hot water.

Jianbing or the Chinese creped often served for breakfast. Can be filled with lettuce, eggs or scallions (populary known as onion).

Chinese toffee  apples. Generic speaking because they use apples, kiwi, pineapple or even cherry tomatoes, treated as fruits here, and coat them with syrup. The exterior is thick and crunchy and the interior is soft. One stick is 3 yuans.

As for small stores the common word is packed. Packed food. Everything that sea food to noodles.
